Why These Are Cool: When the new Amazing Spider-Man creative team was announced, I expressed a mix of excitement and hesitancy. I was excited because writer Zeb Well is great and artist John Romita, Jr. is a long-time favorite of mine, especially when it comes to all things Spider-Man. I was also, hesitant, however, because I wasn’t sure if JRJR could maintain this book’s demanding schedule. Well, after taking June off, he’s back and starting off the second story arc, so that’s a cool thing and a highlight for me. (Zack Quaintance)

Why It’s Cool: I didn’t love any of the Gwenpool I’ve read, but that doesn’t change how cool it is that this omnibus will exist, and especially how complete it seems. A very cool collection that I’m sure a lot of people will be very excited about. (Keigen Rea)

Why It’s Cool: While this book has technically been out for a while now, this is its first time being released in print. I was sad that How to Read Comics the Marvel Way’s initial release was a casualty of the pandemic. I think that providing an introduction to the visual grammar of comics, a la Scott McCloud’s Understanding Comics, but this time geared towards superhero fans and kids in particular is fantastic, as it’s never too early to get people to think about the things they read. I’m excited to see this book finally make it to print in Marvel’s digest format and packaged alongside a diverse group of all-ages first issues, perfect for the budding comics fan in your life. Why It’s Cool: I can’t think of a funnier team up than cheery Kamala Khan and grumpy Logan. This seems like comedic gold, especially given the duo has teamed up in the past. Jody Houser is sharp as a whip and I’m excited to see how she plays this dynamic out. The covers are also very exciting, with many potential guest star such as Jean Grey and Moon Knight teased. One word comes to mind: fun. (Larry Jorash)

Why It’s Cool: I’ve loved Shang-Chi since Yang, Ruan, and Tan launched the initial mini, but this is a weird situation. It’s weird to see film synergy in 2022, though I do trust Yang and To to do something good with it, but relaunching is also weird given the run launched with a mini and already relaunched as an ongoing. It looks like it’s continuing Marvel’s current obsession with miniseries, and I’m kinda into it for this series particularly? Either way, I’m 100% interested in this, both because I think it’ll be good comics, and because I’m apprehensive about how it all shakes out. (Keigen Rea)
