Hey all, some changes are underway here — namely, starting tomorrow (July 5, 2022), I’m going to be taking a role as the reviews editor with my friends over at The Beat. The Beat has always been one of my favorite websites about comics, the long-reigning champ of covering the industry, in my humble opinion, and I’m really excited to be collaborating with them on a more active basis (I’ve been a contributor to the site dating back to 2018).

It’s going to be good! And many of the folks I’ve worked with on pieces for Comics Bookcase will also be working with me over there.

So, what then becomes of Comics Bookcase?

It’s not going anywhere, but I will be using this site as more of a personal outlet for my own creative work. I’ll be setting up a webstore soon, which will be the only place that you can get a copy of the very limited run of my first comic, Next Door, and this will also be the exclusive home for updates on my next project(s). I’m also setting up a Patreon to help support my creative works, for those who may be so inclined. There are also a couple of long-running features for this site that may continue/still need to be finished up.

I’ll also continue the semi-regular Best Of lists on this site, with the next one being Best Graphic Novels of 2022 (so far!). So keep an eye out for that.

In the meantime, I’ll just be off enjoying life without online comics discourse, obligations to publicists, social media promotion, and number of other less-fun things that come with running your own site.
