By Zack Quaintance — Now that Saga has returned (with the excellent Saga #55 — read my full review!), the natural question is when will Saga Volume 10 come out? Today publisher Image Comics has announced that Saga Volume 10 is coming out on October 5, 2022. The trade paperback will collect Saga #55 to Saga #60, the entirety of the first arc following the long (and recently-concluded) Saga hiatus. This, of course, is great news for the folks who don’t read monthly comics, instead preferring paperback bound trade collections.

This is perhaps a bit of a surprise. Saga #60 is set to come out on June 29, 2022. In the past, Saga has usually stuck to a reliable monthly schedule, taken a one month break, and then solicited the coming trade for the month after that, which would have put this book coming out in August, rather than October. It seems likely to mean that the release date for Saga #61 will be November 2022 at the absolute earliest.

When does Saga Volume 10 come out?

Again, it’s going to hit on October 5, 2022, according to a press release today from Image Comics, marking the first collection of new Saga comics since all the way back in September 2018. That press release from Image also included this statement from series writer Brian K. Vaughan:

"I know we were gone for a long time, so Fiona Staples and I are extraordinarily grateful to everyone for welcoming us back with such open arms," said Vaughan. "Saga wouldn’t exist without the hard work and dedication of our retailer friends, so if you just can’t wait for this next collection—or are just scared of spoilers—we hope you’ll consider supporting your local comic book shop by checking out our monthly issues, which include a letters column featuring the greatest readers in comics. Either way, Fiona and I are incredibly excited about where Hazel’s story is headed next, and we look forward to telling it together for many years to come.”

To recap things, the current plans for unpublished Saga comics are as follows:

Saga #58 on April 27, 2022
Saga #59 on May 25, 2022
Saga #60 on June 29, 2022
Saga Volume 10 on October 5, 2022

Past that, the next next logical question to my mind is how are we all going to stay patient as we wait for these new issues of Saga to arrive, especially for those of you out there who are trade-waiting for the 10th volume of these comics.

And I don’t really have a great answer for that, not entirely. I can tell you, however, that I am contemplating getting the deluxe hardcover editions of Saga. I wrote about these volumes in my How to Read Saga piece (I write about Saga…a lot), but they both look great on a shelf and come with a ton of cool extras. So that’s one idea. Other ways to pass the time (which you think would be easier after a hiatus of 3 years and change, but alas…) include collecting Saga Funko Pops! or doing Saga cos-play.
