By Zack Quaintance — I feel like I’ve written this several dozen times at this point (and quite possibly have), but with the distribution of all direct market comics paused for the foreseeable future, there has never been a better time to support independent creators making art in this medium we all love so much. Case in point is today’s Small Press Preview, which is The Scent of May Rain.

This work — available in late May digitally and mid-June physically — features a story by writers Mark O. Stack and Rae Epstein, a script by Stack, artwork by Kaylee Rowena, and lettering by Cardinal Rae. Everything from the title to the concept to the preview art from this book speak to a fresh and highly literary work, well worth getting excited for now in this weeks leading up to its release.
