New Comics Release Dates for May 2020
By Zack Quaintance — As most folks reading this website are no doubt aware, very few new comic book releases have eked out during the past six weeks. You can read all about this more news-oriented comics sites, but the simple reason why is that the COVID-19 pandemic shut down most of American daily life, shuttering comic book shops, comic book printers, and comic book distributors.
This drought of new releases, however, is due to end this month, and with that in mind, today we’re taking a look at the updated New Comics Release Dates for May 2020. In broad strokes, the industry is currently situated like this: DC Comics is releasing a trickle of new books on Tuesdays this month, ramping up to near-full release slates by June. Marvel Comics will start its own slow release ramp up on Wednesday, May 27, while a scattering of smaller publishers will start getting new product out on Wednesday, May 20.
Will any comic book stores be open and functional enough to sell these books? Well folks, like so much these days, that really remains to be seen. Anyway, for posterity’s sake, here’s a list of the coming books for the month...
