EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW: The Realist - Last Day on Earth by Asaf Hanuka

By Zack Quaintance — Today we have an exclusive preview of the forthcoming graphic novel, The Realist — Last Day on Earth by cartoonist Asaf Hanuka. This marks the third collection of Hanuka’s Eisner-winning strip, The Realist. It’s translated from Hebrew by Yardenne Greenspan, with lettering by AndWorld Design, and it’s due out this June in hardcover format via publisher BOOM! Studios.

For those who are unfamiliar, The Realist consists of Hanuka’s autobiographical one-page weekly comics, an expert combination of scenes that are both real and imagined. In edition to winning an Eisner Award, Hanuka’s work has also been nominated for a Hugo Award. Thematically, The Realist tackles a wide range, including self, family, society, parenting in a politically divisive world, and the struggle to manifest art in the face of daily challenges. It is, simply put, great and engaging work, and you can find our exclusive look at the cover and new pages from the forthcoming collection below.

Enjoy!
